Binuo na ng National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) ang “El Niño Team” na tututok sa panahon ng tagtuyot o El Nino season na inaasahang makaka-apekto sa bansa sa huling bahagi ng 2023 hanggang sa unang bahagi ng 2024.
Sinabi ni Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Spokesperson Raffy Alejandro, na alinsunod ito sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na magpatupad ng “whole of government approach” sa pagtugon sa “climate phenomenon.”
Nanguna si NDRRMC Executive Director at Civil Defense Administrator Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno sa ginanap na Inter-Agency meeting sa Camp Aguinaldo kung saan pinangalanan ang mga ahensyang magiging miymebro ng “El Niño Team.”
Kabilang sa mga ito ay ang Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Office of Civil Defense (OCD), National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), National Irrigation Administration (NIA), at Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS).
Magsisilbi namang support team ang Presidential Communications Office (PCO), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), National Water Resources Board (NWRB), at Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). —sa panulat ni Jam Tarrayo
