Naghahanda na ang Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) para sa pagdating ng Monrovian-Registered Dynamic Support Vessel (DSV), “Fire Opal” Vessel na magsasagawa ng siphoning operations ng natitirang langis sa Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.
Bilang pagtugon, nagsagawa ang PCG-Customs, Immigration, Quarantine, and Security (CIQS) ng Coordinating Meeting sa National Headquarters, Port Area.
Pinangunahan ng Crisis Management Committee (CMC) Chairman for the Oriental Mindoro Oil Spill Response and PCG Deputy Commandant for Operations, CG Vice Admiral Rolando Lizor Punzalan Jr, ang pagpupulong.
Ang DSV “Fire Opal” ay na-charter ng Malayan Towage and Salvage Corp. (MSTC) at kinontrata ito ng Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Insurance Club, Shipowners Protection Mutual.
