Hindi maaaring hindi ibahagi ng Bureau of Internal Revenue o BIR sa House Committee on Justice ang tax records ng mag-asawang VP Sara at Atty. Manases Mans Carpuio.
Ito ang reaksyon ni Bicol Saro Party List Rep. Terry Ridon matapos mag file ng Petition for Prohibition and Injunction with application for TRO si Atty. Carpio sa Quezon City RTC.
Respondent sa petisyon sina House Speaker Faustino Bojie Dy III, Rep. Gerville Luistro, in her capacity as chairperson ng Committee on Justice at BIR Commissioner Charlito Martin Mendoza.
Pinapipigilan ni Atty. Mans Carpio sa korte ang BIR na isumite sa House Committee on Justice ang mga hinihingi dokumento na kunektado sa Income Tax Returns at related tax records ng mag-asawa.
Punto ni Ridon, may lawful authority ang Justice panel na i-compel ang production ng documentary evidence na relevant sa pag-alam kung may probable cause ang Articles of Impeachment.
Hindi aniya maaaring gamiting rason ang “confidentialirty” para i-override ang constitutional powers ng Congress sa pagtupad nito sa tungkuling iniatas ng Saligang Batas.
Bukas tuloy na ang impeachment proceeding, at kabilang sa sinubpoena ng komite ay ang mga records ng negosyo at tax records ng Duterte-Carpio couple na kunektado sa umano’y unexplained wealth salig sa SALN ng Vice President.
