Nadiskubre ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) ang mahigit 457,000 pisong halaga ng mga produkto na hindi dumaan sa kaukulang inspeksyon at approval.
Sa pagiinspeksyon sa dalawampu’t tatlong retail firms sa Bulacan, natuklasan ang assorted products na walang Philippine Standard Quality o Safety Certification Mark at Import Commodity Clearance Certification.
Ito ang katunayan na hindi ito dumaan sa Mandatory Product Certification Schemes ng DTI at Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS).
Kabilang sa non-conforming products ang mga tubo ng potable water supply, low carbon steel wires, motorcycle helmets, induction cookers, monobloc chairs and stools, electric blenders, electric grills, microwave ovens, extension cord sets, Edison screw lamp holders, galvanized iron pipes, at fire extinguishers.
Bukod dito, apat na tindahan din ang natuklasang non-compliant at pinagpapaliwanag ng DTI.
Mula Enero hanggang Nobyembre, nakakumpiska na ang DTI ng 67.48 milyong pisong halaga ng mga uncertified products.
