Pormal ng sinimulan ang dalawang araw na National Decongestion Summit ng pamahalaan na pinangungunahan ng Justice Sector Coordinating Council (JSCC).
Ang JSCC ay binubuo ng Supreme Court, Department of Justice (DOJ), at Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Ito ang kaunahang Jail Congestion Summit sa bansa na target na resolbahin ang patuloy na pagsikip ng mga piitan ng Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) at Bureau of Jail Management and Penelogy (BJMP).
Ilan sa mga nakikitang solusyon ang pagbawas ng admission ng mga inmate, pataasin ang bilang ng mga napapalaya, pagpapalawak ng pasilidad ng BuCor.
Kabilang sa mga dumalo sa 2-araw na aktibidad at nagbigay ng mga pambungad na mensahe ay sina Atty. Laura C.
