Naglabas si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ng executive order na magtatatag ng Disaster Response and Crisis Management Task Force.
Ito ang tututok sa pagtugon sa mga kalamidad tulad ng mga bagyo, sa pamamagitan ng evidence at science-based approach.
Sa ilalim ng EO 24, aatasan ang task force na bantayan ang mga preparasyon sa disaster risk reduction management plans, pangunahan ang mga stratehiya sa disaster prevention, makipagtulungan sa mga kaukulang ahensya, at magtatag ng National Disaster Mobilization System.
Magsisilbing miyembro ng task force ang Office of the Executive Secretary, Department of National Defense, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Health, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Transportation, at Office of Civil Defense.
Tungkulin din nitong i-convene ang mga miyembro ng National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council para sa pagde-deklara o pagbawi ng state of calamity, at pag-apruba ng disbursements sa National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund.
Bubuo rin ito ng quick response groups na maaaring ipadala sa mga lugar na maaapektuhan ng kalamidad. —sa ulat ni Harley Valbuena
